Farmer Billy Estes is the heart and hands behind BE Farm, located just outside Bayard, Nebraska. What began as a love of growing pumpkins with his grandma as a young boy, The Pumpkin Patch at BE Farm has grown into a beloved seasonal destination celebrating 10 years of fall fun in 2025. From sunflowers to squash, Billy’s passion for growing specialty crops and creating joyful, meaningful experiences is what makes BE Farm unique.
The farm is best known for its annual Pumpkin Patch, featuring more than 90 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash, plus attractions like a corn maze, hayrack rides, duck races, and fire pits under the stars. But the magic doesn’t stop in October—BE Farm also offers U-Pick Flowers, Sunflower Fest, private parties, and even rustic weddings along the scenic Wildhorse Creek.
A signature tradition is the farm’s pink “Porcelain Doll” pumpkins, grown in honor of Billy’s grandmother and mother with proceeds from each pink pumpkin go to the Festival of Hope, benefiting local cancer patients.
